Always match the correct face stock with the proper technology to ensure successful imprinting. Use this chart as your guide:

Laser: Uses toner powder, high temperatures and a photo conductive drum to create an image that's fused on the face stock.

Thermal Transfer: Transfers heat-activated ink from a ribbon to a specially coated (thermal transfer) paper.

Ink Jet: A plateless process that uses digital data and fires jets of very fine ink droplets at the substrate.

Direct Thermal: Computer-controlled print heads contain elements that heat the label's surface and turn the face stock area black.

Dot Matrix: Computer-controlled print heads strike the substrate to produce a chain of dot patterns that form a printed character.
